To combat inflation, one of Kamala Harris’ first plans of action as president will be to impose the nation’s first-ever federal ban on “corporate price-gouging in the food and grocery industries,” also known as price controls.
After hijacking Donald Trump’s proposed “no tax on tips” position, Kamala recycled an idea proposed by Joe Biden to restrict the prices that food producers, distributors and retailers charge to prevent them from taking advantage of consumers.
“There’s a big difference between fair pricing in competitive markets, and excessive prices unrelated to the costs of doing business,” the Kamala campaign said in a statement. “Americans can see that difference in their grocery bills.”
Kamala will officially unveil the plan this Friday, August 15, at a campaign rally in the battleground swing state of North Carolina. Kamala will claim the idea as part of her broader economic policy platform.
Citing Harris-Walz campaign officials, CBS News reported that the proposal will protect Americans against food companies exploiting them in order to increase profits.

Kamala is also planning to call on the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and state attorneys to probe corporations for violating existing price-fixing laws. Many are calling the scheme “Kamalanomics” and claiming it will lead to “mile-long lines for food, meat coupons, shortages, (and a) food black market.”
E.J. Antoni from the Heritage Foundation claims that the average costs paid by businesses have risen just as much as the higher costs that American consumers are now having to pay just to survive.
“If businesses are being ‘greedy,’ they’re doing it all wrong,” Antoni claims.
Instead of addressing the private Federal Reserve’s inflationary money creation schemes that is fueling the national debt by adding another $1 trillion to the tab every 100 days, Kamala wants corporations to stop their “illegal price gouging.”
X is abuzz with critics of the plan who warn that it is “communist economics” in plain sight. One compared what is happening “90 miles from Florida,” referring to Cuba, to what Kamala is proposing for America under her presidency.
PSA:
We are no longer talking about hypothetical communism, we are talking about two straight up communists who want to institute a federal price ban on food and a federal minimum wage that is going to make every corporation go out of business.

“It’s government greed that’s destroying everything,” contended another about who he feels is really to blame for out-of-control inflation.
Grocery stores, by the way, are one of the lowest margin businesses in the world, earning maybe 3-4 percent profit margin “if they are lucky,” to quote one commenter critical of Kamala’s plan.
“One surefire way to lower grocery prices is tort reform,” suggested another. “Certain people walk into stores looking to take a dive. They are like vultures circling. They file a lawsuit seeking millions. How many cans of creamed corn do you have to sell to offset that?”
Another responded that this probably will not work because “look how well it worked with vaccines, especially the COVID ones, where you are unable to sue the manufacturer.”
“The only protection the consumer has is the ability to sue,” this person added.
“It’s not really about prices; it’s about control,” contended another about the government’s true plan.
